Sow Autumn or Spring. A stunning annual with vibrant red maroon to golden yellow flowers. Can be planted as an ornamental and companion plant where it attracts pollinating insects and harvested for cut flowers in floral arrangements. Native wildflower to the Southern and Central US, and as far south as Northern Mexico. Traditionally used by Native American Zuni as a mahogany red dye and beverage. Suits a well drained soil with full sun to part shade.

A small perennial thistle-like plant whose whose leaves and root have a strong and agreeable coriander flavour. Leaves are typically harvested as needed, finely chopped and added early to a stir fry and later as a garnish. It is a main ingredient in 'sofrito', a West Indian seasoning made of Parsley, Chilli and Thai Coriander.
