Native Millet


Showcased by Bruce Pascoe in his book ‘Dark Emu’, as an important bush food and perennial grain, harvested for its seeds by Aboriginal people for baking.

Thickly growing tussock, clumping grass that can grow up to 1 metre tall. Can be cut back to maintain a compact form.

Grows best in a sunny position in well drained soil. Drought and limestone tolerant.

Suitable for inland areas and rangelands with forage value to stock.
