Acacia acuminata – Raspberry Jam Tree

Description

Native to Geraldton, a wonderful small shade tree, known as the Raspberry Jam tree from the smell of the wood when hand sawn. It’s durable timber was used extensively for fence posts before the day of treated pine. Commonly used as a host plant for Quandong.

Produces heavy blooms of yellow cylindrical flowers in winter. Suitable for inland and coastal areas.
