Description

Drought tolerant inland species. Great shelter-belt and shade tree. Spectacular show of golden yellow pompoms in mid-summer. Will recover after fire.

Provides valuable pollen for bees during summer. Known for its production of sweet gum and edible seeds.

The roots of this plant were traditionally used to make spears.
